The political planning amid the US President Barack Obama and his chief officers over pulling out from Iraq takes a new turn. The Central chief Commander General, David Petraeus disclosed that on the January 21 White House meeting, Obama had appealed for three different battle troop removal plans including one of 23 months.This suggested that,Obama is breaking away from the 16 months plan he had promised to implement if elected as the president. The White House is firmly denying this allegation. However a close inspection doesn’t pass on any act of Obama or the White House meeting.
In reality, Petraeus, one of the most influential bodies of the US military tried to maneuver Obama’s exposure to the media.The declaration was most probably for his own political interest. The real motive of Petraeus became evident when the February 4 account of Petraeus came to the forefront. His plan against the 16 month withdrawl was abandoned by Obama and he insisted to stand for the actual time limit. The outcome of the meeting made Petraeus dissatisfied. Thus he framed the confusing story about Obama.
